3,000 Spaceships

In southern Arizona (in Tubac, between Tucson and Nogales), there is a religious group known as the Global Community Communications Alliance. Theyíre headed by a man named Gabriel, who says in past lives he was, among others, the Apostle Peter, Alexander the Great, and George Washington. His name in this life, before he took on the name Gabriel, was Anthony Joseph Delevin, son of a Pittsburgh steelworker.

The group believes Gabriel had a close encounter of a third kind with a celestial being named Paladin the Finaliter, who said he was in charge of 3,000 spaceships waiting to rescue true believers from Earth, and it was Gabrielís job to help round them up. The group requires new members to renounce their given names and many of their possessions. There about 100 adherents, including people from four different continents, and a lawyer, a doctor, a psychologist and school teachers.

Itís remarkable the things that people will believe when they forsake the basic teachings of Scripture.

Suggested applications:

  • Itís important that we instruct people in basic Christian doctrine.
  • The Biblical hope of Heaven is much greater than a ride in an alien spaceship.
